Canberra Raiders and Denman Prospect raise more than $90K for Homes For Homes

30 August 2018

On Saturday 25 August, after the Canberra Raiders scored 24 points in their final game of the season, they joined Denman Prospect in presenting a big cheque to Homes for Homes in the amount of $28,200!  This brings the total both organisations have donated to more than $90,000 over the last three years.

For the last three seasons, the Canberra Raiders and Denman Prospect have pledged $100 per point scored at home games to Homes for Homes, a charity that aims to tackle Australia’s housing crisis. Every try scored at home games meant $400 and every conversion a further $200 donation to help address the shortage of social and affordable housing

“It’s fantastic that we were able to give more than $90,000 to Homes for Homes,” says Nick McDonald Crowley, Project Director, Denman Prospect. “But it is a sad fact that tonight in Canberra there are people sleeping out in the cold and we want to be part of changing lives for the better through affordable and social housing projects here in the ACT.”

Denman Prospect is also the first entire Australian suburb committed to the Homes for Homes initiative, donating an additional $126,000 so far as a result of land sales in the suburb.
